Tap Dance

Tap Dance

Tap dance was developed in the United States during the nineteenth century and is popular nowadays in many parts of the world. The name comes from the tapping sound made when the small metal plates on the dancer's shoes touch a hard floor. This lively, rhythmic tapping makes the performer not just a dancer but also a percussive musician.

Our Dance Families Thoughts

  • To our Dance Connection Family.

Where to begin?! Saturday night was simply extraordinary. My wife and I were so moved by the energy and generosity of the Dance Connection community. It was inspiring to behold the positivity and spirit that define and drive your dancers. And to see a sea of hundreds who came out on a Saturday night to support the Rochester Imagination Library through dance made our month. Plus we had a blast watching!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! We are grateful and moved.
